Q: What is the return policy?
A: Cycle Tow will be happy to provide a full refund in the first 30 days after delivery of your order in the event that you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase. Please contact us prior to returning any goods under this policy.

Q: How much will delivery cost?
A: Delivery is free for any order over $100 in Australia and for orders under $100 delivery is $5 within Australia. We are happy to supply delivery charges for any other destination just drop us an email. 

Q: When will my Cycle Tow Order arrive at my house?
A: Cycle tow despatch same or next business day. Most major metropolitan areas will receive their order 1 to 3 business days after despatch.
Cycle Tow have distribution warehouses on both sides of Australia. On the West Coast in Perth and on the East Coast in Sydney to ensure you receive your order quickly and as safely as possible.

Q: Do I need a Cycle Tow Tandem Rack OR  Cycle Trail Gator Tow Bar OR a Cycle Tow Tow Ready Complete Bike?
A: Cycle Tow Trail Gator allows the towing adult to maintain total control over  the towed childs bike and their bike. It is suitable for children up to 32Kg. The Cycle Tow Tow Ready Complete Bike is the exactly the same system as the Trail Gator except you get a Complete Girls/Boys bike with the tow system already incorporated into the bike at one low price.

The Cycle Tow Tandem Rack requires the towed person to be capable of mantaining their own balance and steering and to be responsible for their own safety and is suitable for towing older children and adults.

Q: What size adult bikes and children’s bikes are suitable for Trail Gator fitting?
A: Trail Gator fits Adult bikes of a minimum size of 25" (63.5cm) Tyre Diameter and children’s bikes from 12" (30.5cm) to 20" (50.8cm) Tyre Diameter.

A small number of children’s bicycles have Non free wheeling pedals that is the pedals always move even if you are not pedalling (E.g. If your child is rolling down a hill without pedalling the pedals still move around) these bikes are not suitable for Towing.

Q: When attached with a Cycle Tow Trail Gator can my child steer their bike?
A: No, your Childs bikes front wheel is elevated off the ground and the handlebars of the Childs bike are prevented from moving by the stabilizing rod giving the child a secure place to hold on to.

Q: How far is the Childs bikes front wheel elevated off the ground with a Cycle Tow Trail Gator?

A: The adjustable receiver that’s fits to the front of the child bike regulates the ground clearance to the recommended 7.6cm to 12.7cm (3” to 5”) this being a safe and comfortable angle while cycling.

Q: What effect does using a Cycle Tow Trail Gator have on the handling of the Adult bike?

A: It is a good idea when you have installed your Cycle Tow Trail-Gator to go for a short ride without your child to get the feeling of towing. At first, the towing experience may seem a little different, the majority of riders rapidly become accustomed.

Q: What effect does using a Cycle Tow Tandem Rack have on the handling of the towing bike?

A: Yes, nearly all types of suspension bikes can be fitted with a Cycle Tow Tandem Rack or Cycle Tow Trail Gator.

Q: If going off road and in rough environment is it okay on the Trail-Gator or the Cycle Tow Tandem Rack?

A: The Trail-Gator and Cycle Tow Tandem Rack were designed and tested for the purposes of on-road use. Rough terrain may present riding situations for which the Trail-Gator and Tandem Rack was not designed or tested.

Q: Will it be okay if my towed person uses there brakes while being towed with the Cycle Tow Trail Gator or Tandem Rack?

A: We recommend that you coach your towed person when it is appropriate to use and not to use their brakes (they can only use the rear brake when being towed with a Trail Gator). A little practice in vacant area will soon do the trick.

Q: I currently have a luggage rack or child carrier on my bike will the Trail-Gator OR the Cycle Tow Tandem Rack work in conjunction with these?

A: The Trail Gator and Cycle Tow Tandem Rack will work with some luggage racks; they will not work with a rear mounted child carrier. Trail gators require some clearance when towing to allow a small amount up and down movement, and side to side movement.

Q: My bike has a rear disc brake will the Trail Gator storage bracket work on this bike?

A: Most bikes with rear disc brakes still have enough clearance to mount the bracket on the rear axle stub as required.

Q: My child has a three wheel bike or a tri-cycle can I use the Trail-gator to tow them?

A: No, the towed bike must be able to lean slightly with the adult bike when cornering.
